President Bola Tinubu has directed the Minister of Finance, Mr Wale Edun, to present a template for a new minimum wage.
Minister of Information and National Orientation, Alhaji Mohammed Idris, stated this in Abuja after a federal government delegation on the new minimum wage met with the President.
Alhji Idris who stated that the government is not an opponent of labour or wage increase reiterated the commitment of the President to the welfare of Nigerians.
Meanwhile, the Organised Labour has vowed to reject any lean addition to the ₦60,000 offer by the Tripartite Committee on the new minimum wage.
President of the Trade Union Congress (TUC), Comrade Festus Osifo, stated this after the Organised Labour comprising the TUC and the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) suspended its industrial action which started on Monday.
