The Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Pastor Umo Eno has stated that Ibom Air, a state-owned airline, conducts thorough inspections on all its aircraft to ensure they are in optimal condition before commencing any journey.
The Governor stated this while reacting to an incident involving an aircraft that belongs to the airline at the Murtala Mohammed Airport in Lagos on Thursday.
Pastor Eno, maintained that the airline takes safety seriously and ensures all procedures are followed before flying out.
According to the Governor, Ibom Air has ordered ten new aircraft, adding that the first of the orders has arrived and will soon resume operation after passing all the checks by the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA).
