The federal government has announced that the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) will conduct a comprehensive audit of all domestic airlines operating in the country.
Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Mr. Festus Keyamo, conveyed this information to newsmen, emphasizing the importance of ensuring passenger safety and the overall health of the Civil Aviation Sector.
In addition to the ongoing Audit of Dana Airlines and its suspension, Minister Keyamo highlighted that all other carriers in Nigeria will undergo scrutiny as part of the initiative.
Meanwhile, the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Mr. Festus Keyamo, says Local Airline Operator, Air Peace will commence its Abuja-London route very soon.
The Minister said he has been reviewing the BASA between the UK and Nigeria and some decision would be made after the review.
The development has been applauded by many industry observers with more local airlines being encouraged to commence international flights to profitable routes.
