President Bola Tinubu has extended his condolences to the Eze family over the passing of Senator Ayogu Eze.
This was disclosed in a statement issued by the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Chief Ajuri Ngelale.
He noted His Excellency, President Bola Tinubu also commiserated with friends, associates, and former colleagues of the deceased, including the National Assembly as an institution.
President Tinubu also prayed God almighty grants the soul of the departed repose and comfort to those in mourning.
Born in 1958, the former senator who was in the Senate between 2007 and 2015, was said to have died in a hospital in Abuja after a protracted illness.
Senator Ayogu Eze was a founding member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) but until his death, the former lawmaker was a member of the APC and one of the chieftains of the party in Enugu State.
Before being elected into the Senate in 2007, Senator Eze served the Chimaroke Nnamani-led Enugu State government as the Commissioner for Information, Culture and Tourism.
