Governor Fubara Refutes Claims of Police Siege in Rivers State

Date:

Rivers State Governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara has refuted allegations of a police siege, dismissing them as speculation from critics of his administration.

Governor Fubara made these remarks following his inspection of the Eberi-Omodu road in Omuma Local Government Area of Rivers State. He reiterated his commitment to peace and vowed to maintain the current peaceful atmosphere for the benefit of Rivers State residents.

Governor Fubara mentioned that the road project, originally planned to be 8 kilometers long, has been extended to 14.6 kilometers to connect with Abia state.

He noted that, although the road was intended to be commissioned during his administration’s one-year anniversary, it will now be completed within the next two months.

The Governor’s visit also aimed to reassure Nigerians that Rivers State remains peaceful, countering negative media reports suggesting otherwise regarding a purported police siege.
