Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, has called on Akwa Ibom indigenes in the diaspora to demonstrate their love for motherland by utilizing their skills and resources towards boosting the development of the State.
Governor Umo Eno who made the call while addressing the 2024 Convention of the Akwa Ibom State Association of Nigeria (AKISAN, USA), at Sheraton Music City Hotel, Nashville, Tennessee, USA, commended the unity among Akwa Ibom people across the fifty states of America and their promotion of the rich cultural heritage of their motherland, under the leadership of Mr. Itoro Akpan Iquot.
Pastor Umo Eno also felicitated Miss Ukeme Awakessien-Jeter, from Nsit- Ibom on her emergence as Mayor of the Upper Arlington City in Ohio, being the first person of color to be elected in over a hundred years.
Highlighting his administration’s achievement in implementing the ARISE AGENDA, Pastor Umo Eno reiterated his promise to protect and enhance the life of Akwa Ibom indigenes, assuring a brighter future for those within and outside the state.
He encouraged the Akwa Ibom indigenes to maintain their honour as good Ambassadors of the State by collaborating with the State Government for the actualization of the Arise Agenda, which he noted will boost development in the state.
The governor seized the opportunity to commend the youths for their peaceful conduct during the nationwide protest, which helped to maintain stability in the state.
