FORMER LAWMAKER CALLS FOR DIGITALISATION OF NIGERIA’S ELECTORAL PROCESS

Date:

Former Benue State lawmaker and political analyst, Comrade Daniel Atayi, has urged the federal government and the National Assembly to prioritize the digitalization of Nigeria’s voting system to enhance election transparency and efficiency.

In an exclusive interview with ADBN in Abuja, Comrade Atayi highlighted the pressing need for electoral reforms that will safeguard the integrity of elections nationwide. His remarks come on the heels of the recently concluded local government elections in Akwa Ibom, Rivers, Benue, and Jigawa States.

He expressed disappointment over the outcome of the recent local government polls, pointing out that the results did not meet the expectations of the electorate, further underscoring the urgency for reform.

The call for the digitalization of Nigeria’s voting system reflects widespread concerns regarding the integrity of the nation’s electoral framework.
