Former England Manager Sven-Göran Eriksson Dies at 76

Former England manager, Sven-Goran Eriksson has died at the age of 76.

A statement from his family confirmed that Eriksson died this morning at his home, surrounded by his loved ones.

Eriksson made history in 2001 as the first foreign manager of the England men’s football team.

After leaving the England role post-2006 World Cup, Eriksson went on to manage teams including Mexico, the Ivory Coast, and English clubs Manchester City and Leicester City.

Due to health issues, he resigned from his role as sporting director at Swedish club Karlstad in February 2023.

Following his cancer diagnosis, Eriksson achieved a lifelong dream by leading Liverpool Legends in a charity match against Ajax at Anfield in March.
