FLYING EAGLES SECURE WAFU UNDER-20 CHAMPIONSHIP WITH 2-1 VICTORY OVER GHANA

Date:

Nigeria’s Flying Eagles have retained their WAFU B Under 20 title following a two-one victory over regional rivals Ghana on Wednesday night in Lome, Togo courtesy of a brace from Kparobo Arierhi.

The Flying Eagles dominated the first half, showcasing their skill and teamwork, while Ghana intensified their efforts in the second half.

Despite the late pressure from the Ghanaians, Nigeria held firm to retain the trophy they won two years ago in Niger Republic. Arierhi’s exceptional performance earned him the Man of the Match award.

With this victory, both Nigeria and Ghana will represent the WAFU B zone at the upcoming Africa Under-20 Cup of Nations, set to take place in South Africa next year.
