Federal Government Increases Nigerian Passport Fees, Effective September 1, 2024

Date:

The Federal Government has announced an upward review of fees for the Nigerian passport, set to take effect on September 1, 2024.

This change was disclosed in a statement by Kenneth Udo, spokesperson for the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), on Wednesday.

The increase is intended to maintain the quality and integrity of the Nigerian Standard Passport.

According to the new fee structure, the cost of a 32-page passport booklet with a five-year validity will rise from N35,000 to N50,000, while the 64-page passport booklet with ten-year validity will increase from N70,000 to N100,000.

Despite the hike, the NIS expressed its commitment to transparency and quality service delivery; while also acknowledging any inconvenience the fee adjustment may cause to prospective applicants.
