ENYIMBA FIGHTS BACK TO DRAW 2-2 WITH ZAMALEK IN CAF CONFEDERATION CUP CLASH

Date:

Enyimba of Aba fought back from two goals down to secure a 2-2 draw with CAF Confederation Cup champions Zamalek of Egypt on Sunday at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo.

Zamalek dominated the first half of the match, taking a commanding two-goal lead within the first 40 minutes.

Tunisian striker Seifeddine Jaziri opened the scoring before Omar Faraj doubled the advantage for the Cairo-based club.

However, Enyimba halved the deficit in injury time at the end of the first half, with Ifeanyi Ihemekwele scoring. In the 57th minute, a deflected shot from Chinedu Ufere brought the hosts level.

Enyimba created more opportunities than their opponents in the final stages of the match but were unable to capitalize due to poor finishing.
