Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has arrested former Minister of Power, Saleh Mamman, following his recent conviction by the Federal High Court in Abuja over allegations of financial misappropriation while in office.
EFCC Chairman, Ola Olukoyede, confirmed that the former minister was arrested at about 3:30 a.m. on Tuesday in Kaduna.
According to the anti-graft agency, Mamman was arrested alongside two individuals said to have been protecting him at the residence where he was found.
The EFCC also disclosed that the property where the arrest took place is currently under investigation.
The arrest comes shortly after the Federal High Court sentenced Mamman to 75 years imprisonment after convicting him on charges linked to an alleged ₦33.8 billion fraud case.
Further details are expected as investigations continue.
