The Minister of Defence, General Christopher Musa (Rtd), has dismissed reports claiming he resigned from office, describing the allegations as false and misleading. He warned that those responsible for spreading the rumours would face legal action.

Speaking to State House Correspondents after a meeting with President Bola Tinubu at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, General Musa said he has neither resigned nor considered stepping down from office, adding that he was surprised by the reports.

The Defence Minister explained that his meeting with the President was to brief him on the country’s security situation and ongoing military operations across different parts of the country.

General Musa said recent successes in the fight against insecurity were the result of sustained efforts by the Armed Forces and other security agencies, supported by the cooperation of Nigerians.

He reaffirmed the Federal Government’s commitment to restoring peace, strengthening national security and sustaining ongoing operations against criminal elements across the country.
