BARBRA BANDA MAKES HISTORY AS FIRST AFRICAN PLAYER VOTED INTO FIFPRO WOMEN’S WORLD 11

Date:

Zambia’s Barbra Banda has made history by becoming the first African player to be named to the FIFPRO Women’s World 11, following the announcement of the 2024 team on Monday.

Banda’s remarkable form over the past 12 months, both for her club and country, earned her this prestigious recognition.

She scored 17 goals in 25 appearances for Orlando Pride in the National Women’s Soccer League, leading the team to both the Shield and Championship titles in the United States.

In addition to her club achievements, Banda delivered an impressive performance at the 2024 Olympic Games for Zambia.

Over 7,000 women’s footballers voted for the team of the year. The FIFPRO Women’s World 11 is the only global football award determined exclusively by professional players.
