ARMY ARRESTS 11 SUSPECTS, RECOVERS 80,000 LITRES OF STOLEN PRODUCTS

Troops of the Nigerian Army’s 6 Division, in collaboration with other security agencies, have arrested 11 suspected oil thieves and recovered 80,000 litres of stolen products during operations in the Niger Delta.

 

Spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Danjuma Jonah revealed that the operations, conducted between November 18 and 24, dismantled 34 illegal oil refining camps across the region.

Significant recoveries were made in Buguma Creeks, Asari-Toru Local Government Area of Rivers State, where 25,000 litres of stolen products were seized. In Iyalama-Bakana, a wellhead used for crude oil theft was discovered, alongside 8,000 litres of stolen products.

Additionally, in Idu Community, Ahoada West Local Government Area, 2,000 litres of stolen products were intercepted. The operations underscore the military’s commitment to eradicating oil theft and safeguarding national resources.
