The Akwa Ibom State Police Command has recovered an AK-47 rifle concealed in an unfinished building behind Heritage Polytechnic, located in Ikot Udota, Eket Local Government Area.
In a statement released by the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Timfon John, it was revealed that the rifle was hidden in black cult regalia. DSP John reassured the public of the Command’s commitment to ensuring the safety and security of residents under the leadership of the Commissioner of Police, CP Baba Mohammed Azare.
She further stated that efforts are underway to identify and apprehend those responsible for hiding the weapon. The Police Command urged members of the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the nearest police station.
This recovery underscores the ongoing efforts of the Akwa Ibom State Police Command to combat crime and ensure the safety of communities across the state.
