The Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, and the Port Harcourt International Airport have been recognized by the Airport Council International (ACI Africa) for their exceptional commitment to airport emergency management and resilience.
A statement from the office of the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, signed by Senior Adviser for Media and Communications, Tunde Moshood, on Friday, confirmed the recognition.
The awards were presented during the Gala Night at the 33rd Annual General Assembly of ACI Africa held in Johannesburg, South Africa.
The awards were handed over by ACI Africa Secretary-General Ali Tounsi and ACI Africa President Emmanuel Chaves, acknowledging Nigeria’s strides in ensuring airport safety and preparedness.
“This prestigious recognition is a testament to the unwavering commitment and hard work of everyone involved in ensuring excellence in airport emergency management and resilience, especially the Honourable Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Mr. Festus Keyamo, SAN,” the statement read.
The achievement underscores Nigeria’s dedication to enhancing security and efficiency in its aviation sector, marking a significant milestone for the country’s airports.
