Pep Guardiola
Former Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has expressed support for the club following an independent commission’s ruling on breaches of Premier League financial rules.
Guardiola, who managed City from 2016 to 2026, sent a message to the club’s players, staff, supporters and ownership, saying they would get through the situation together.
Manchester City were found guilty of serious breaches of Premier League financial regulations, with the commission finding that the club arranged what it described as sham contracts with commercial partners between the 2009-10 and 2017-18 seasons.
The club continues to deny wrongdoing and has confirmed it will appeal the ruling.

Manchester City chief executive Ferran Soriano has also rejected the findings, describing the process as a Premier League conspiracy theory.
The club has until October 2 to file its appeal.
