Manchester City are in advanced negotiations with Lille over a possible deal for Morocco midfielder Ayyoub Bouaddi.
The Premier League champions are hoping to complete the transfer this week following an agreement to sell Rodri to Barcelona.
Lille reportedly value the 18-year-old at about 100 million euros, with City looking to strengthen their midfield options ahead of the new season.
Bouaddi enhanced his reputation at this summer’s World Cup, starting five of Morocco’s six matches during their run to the quarter-finals.
The teenager had already attracted attention in European football after producing an impressive performance in Lille’s Champions League victory over Real Madrid in 2024.
Bouaddi primarily operates as a deep-lying midfielder and could provide City with another option in the number-six position.
His arrival could also complement summer signing Elliot Anderson, who is capable of playing as a box-to-box midfielder as well as in a deeper midfield role for England.
