The Nigerian stock market closed on a positive note, with transactions on the floor of the Nigerian Exchange reflecting renewed investor confidence.
The All-Share Index gained 4,918.37 points to close at 229,240.34, up from 225,690.07 recorded in the previous trading session.
The market’s year-to-date return improved to 47.43 per cent, while the month-to-date and week-to-date returns stood at -5.36 per cent and -1.21 per cent respectively.
Market capitalisation closed at ₦147.1 trillion.
A total of 855 million shares valued at ₦27.572 billion were traded in 49,609 deals.
Among the top gainers were Airtel Africa, The Initiates Plc, and OmaTek Ventures, each posting a 10 per cent gain.
On the losers’ chart, International Energy Insurance, Meyer Paints, and Fortis Global Insurance recorded the highest declines during the trading session.
