A Federal High Court sitting in the Federal Capital Territory has dismissed a suit seeking to disqualify former President Goodluck Jonathan from participating in the 2027 presidential election.
The court described the suit as an abuse of court process and subsequently awarded N20 million in costs against the plaintiff in favour of the former president.
The ruling effectively clears Jonathan of any immediate legal barrier regarding eligibility concerns linked to the 2027 presidential polls.
Further details on the court’s reasoning and the parties involved are expected to emerge subsequently.
