2Baba Appears in Court With Lawmaker Partner as Edo Tribunal Delivers Judgment

Date:

Nigerian music star Innocent “2Baba” Idibia was spotted at the Edo State Governorship Election Tribunal in Benin City on Wednesday, accompanying his partner, Edo lawmaker Natasha Osarawu, as the court prepared to deliver its judgment.

The couple arrived hand-in-hand, drawing attention as they entered the courtroom. 2Baba and Osarawu, a member of the Edo State House of Assembly, went public with their relationship in February when the singer attended a legislative session with her. He later proposed marriage in a viral social media video.

The tribunal, led by Justice Wilfred Kpochi, is set to rule on the petition filed by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), challenging the victory of Governor Monday Okpebholo of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the September 2024 election.

2Baba’s appearance comes amid ongoing public interest in his personal life, following the breakdown of his marriage to actress Annie Idibia, who recently resumed social media activity under her maiden name, Annie Uwana Macaulay.

The judgment could have significant political implications for Edo State, with Osarawu being a PDP member. The tribunal had reserved its verdict on March 3 after parties adopted their final written addresses.

As proceedings began, all eyes were on the high-profile couple, whose relationship has become a talking point in both entertainment and political circles. The tribunal’s decision is expected to be delivered shortly.
