Borno State Governor, Babagana Umara Zulum, has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to supporting displaced residents returning to Mallam-Fatori, headquarters of Abadam Local Government, as they begin resettling in their ancestral homes after years spent in refugee camps in the Niger Republic.
Governor Zulum gave the assurance during a one-day official visit to Mallam-Fatori, a border town near Lake Chad that was recently struck by a deadly terrorist attack. The visit forms part of ongoing efforts to reinforce the resilience of both military personnel and civilian populations amid escalating violence in the region.
During his visit, Governor Zulum commiserated with the affected community and met with officers and men of the 96 Battalion. He extended condolences to the families of military personnel and civilians who lost their lives in the attack, pledging continued collaboration with security forces to ensure lasting peace and stability.
