The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Barrister Nyesom Wike, has assured residents of Guzape and Kpaduma communities that they will receive full and prompt compensation for properties affected by the ongoing road construction projects in the area.
Wike gave the assurance during a meeting with traditional rulers and community representatives in Abuja, aimed at addressing concerns about delays in relocating villagers situated along the designated construction corridors.
He emphasized the importance of the road project to decongest traffic and improve infrastructure and connectivity across the FCT. Wike also warned that the continued presence of residents along the planned road path could hinder timely completion of the project.
The traditional leaders, led by the Sa’peyi of Garki, Alhaji Usman Nga-Kupi, praised the minister’s transparency and hands-on approach in engaging the affected communities. They reaffirmed their support and cooperation in the resettlement process.
The road project forms part of the broader initiative by the FCT Administration (FCTA) to modernize Abuja’s transport network and enhance residents’ mobility.
