President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has described the remodeled Abuja City Gate as a symbol of national renewal, unity and progress, while commending the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, for advancing infrastructure development in the nation’s capital.
Represented by First Lady Oluremi Tinubu during the commissioning ceremony in Abuja, the President said the project marks the third anniversary of his administration and the 50th anniversary of the Federal Capital Territory.
He noted that the transformation of the iconic monument reflects the administration’s commitment to modernising public infrastructure and enhancing the image of the capital city.
Speaking at the event, FCT Minister Nyesom Wike disclosed that the remodelling project was initiated following a directive from the First Lady, who insisted that the entrance to the nation’s capital should project Nigeria’s status.
Wike said the project, which features a redesigned water fountain and modern lighting system, represents another milestone in the ongoing renewal and beautification of Abuja.
