President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has reiterated the need for government to create an enabling environment for judicial officers to carry out their responsibilities without fear, intimidation or favour.

The President, represented by the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Prince Lateef Fagbemi, made the call during the commissioning of 20 residential quarters for judges of the FCT High Court in Katampe District, Abuja.

He said providing decent accommodation for judicial officers would improve their welfare and enable them to focus on upholding the rule of law and administering justice without unnecessary distractions.

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, also stressed that safeguarding the independence of the judiciary remains a fundamental responsibility of government.

He noted that the commissioning of the housing units comes at a time when the FCT High Court is facing increased demands due to Abuja’s rapid growth as Nigeria’s political, administrative and commercial centre.
