Tight Security as APC Holds National Executive Committee Meeting in Abuja

Date:

Security has been significantly heightened in and around Blantyre Street and adjoining areas in Wuse 2, Abuja, as dignitaries arrive at the national secretariat of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the party’s National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting.

The high-profile event, scheduled for 11 a.m., is expected to be attended by President Bola Tinubu, Vice President Kashim Shettima, Senate President Godswill Akpabio, and House of Representatives Speaker Tajudeen Abbas, among other top government officials.

Vehicular and human movement in the area have been heavily restricted, with only a limited number of journalists granted access to cover the opening session of the meeting.

Among the early arrivals were Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives Benjamin Kalu, members of the APC National Working Committee (NWC), and the Forum of State Chairmen. Also in attendance were former Zamfara State Governor Senator Abdulaziz Yari and former Kebbi State Governor Senator Abubakar Atiku Bagudu, who currently serves as Minister of Budget and National Planning.

The NEC meeting is a crucial gathering for the ruling party, as it provides a platform to discuss key party matters, review ongoing initiatives, and strategize for future political and governance goals.
