The President of the Senate, Senator Godswill Akpabio has commenced the distribution of rice to all Ward Chairmen across the 31 Local Government Areas of Akwa Ibom State in a bid to address the lingering food insecurity in the country.
Senator Akpabio who flagged off the distribution at his home in Ukana where he hosted all 108 Ward Chairmen noted that the vision of his government under the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has the masses at heart.

Speaking at the flag-off ceremony held at his residence in Ukana, Essien Udim Local Government Area, Senator Akpabio emphasized the importance of collective efforts in ensuring food security and alleviating hunger within communities assuring that the government of the day is committed to the security of food in the nation.
Senator Akpabio also took the opportunity to speak of several other developmental plans in store for the people of the region while urging them to never lose sight of their days of little beginnings.
