Coach Finidi George has been appointed as the New Technical Manager of Nigeria Premier Football League side Rivers United of Port Harcourt.
Rivers United confirmed his appointment today through their Media Officer, Mr. Charles Mayuku.
Finidi George recently led the Super Eagles in two 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying fixtures against South Africa and the Benin Republic before resigning from the position.
He brings a wealth of experience and expertise to Rivers United, boasting a distinguished playing career spanning over fifteen years.
His achievements include winning the Africa Cup of Nations with the Super Eagles in 1994, the UEFA Champions League with Ajax in 1995, and the Nigeria Premier Football League with Enyimba International FC in 2023.
In a statement, Rivers United expressed confidence in Finidi’s coaching abilities, citing his track record of success. They anticipate that he will bring his wealth of experience and passion to elevate the club’s performance.
Finidi George will be officially unveiled at the Sharks Stadium in Port Harcourt on Thursday.
