RIVERS HOOPERS RETAIN NIGERIA PREMIER BASKETBALL LEAGUE TITLE, SECURE 2025 BAL SPOT

Rivers Hoopers will once again represent Nigeria in the 2025 Basketball Africa League after successfully retaining their Nigeria Premier Basketball League title.

The Hoopers triumphed over Hoops and Read Basketball Club in the playoff final on Monday in Port Harcourt, securing a commanding 71-54 victory.

Kelvin Amayo was the standout performer in the dominant win, contributing 29 points, two assists, and one rebound. He scored 20 of his points in the first half, leading the Port Harcourt-based team to their sixth league title.

The King’s Men completed their remarkable run with a perfect record of 12 wins from 12 games, spanning from the Conference Finals to the Playoffs.

Rivers Hoopers will now return to the Basketball Africa League, where they made history earlier this year as the first Nigerian team to reach the podium, defeating the Cape Town Tigers 80-57 in Kigali.
