Rivers Hoopers Conclude First Phase of 2024 Basketball Africa League with Convincing Victory

Rivers Hoopers of Port Harcourt have sealed the first phase of the 2024 Basketball Africa League in Senegal with a triumphant victory, overpowering US Monastir of Tunisia with an 84-63 point margin on Tuesday.

The Nigerian representatives demonstrated pace and efficiency throughout the four quarters, which US Monastir failed to match despite strategic adjustments and timeouts from the Tunisian team.

Kelvin Amayo emerged as a dominant force for Rivers Hoopers, instilling fear in US Monastir’s defense with his ability to score from various positions on the court, amassing a game-high 27 points.

Contributing to the impressive performance were Will Perry with 19 points, Devine Eke with 16 points, and Peter Olisemeka with 13 points.

Rivers Hoopers are set to face the host team, AS Douanes, in their next match on Thursday.
