Remo Stars solidified their position at the top of the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) table with a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Plateau United on Sunday in Ikenne. Samson Olasupo, marking his return to the Nigerian topflight, scored the match-winning goal in the 74th minute, securing three crucial points for Daniel Ogunmodede’s side.
With this win, Remo Stars now have 54 points after 27 matches, maintaining a 12-point lead over second-placed Rivers United, who are set to face third-placed Shooting Stars in Ibadan later today.
In other NPFL fixtures, Super Eagles coach Eric Chelle was in attendance to witness Kano Pillars’ 2-1 victory over Rangers International in Kano. Meanwhile, Enyimba recorded a rare away win, with Joseph Atule scoring the only goal in their 1-0 triumph over Niger Tornadoes in Lafia.
Remo Stars’ consistent performance continues to set the pace in the league, as they aim to clinch the NPFL title this season.
