President Bola Tinubu on Tuesday night presided over the inaugural National Caucus meeting of the All Progressives Congress (APC) since assuming office on May 29, 2023. The high-level gathering, held at the State House Conference Centre in Abuja, brought together key party leaders to discuss critical party matters and governance strategies.
The meeting, which commenced at 7:20 pm, saw the attendance of prominent APC figures, including Vice President Kashim Shettima, Senate President Godswill Akpabio, Speaker of the House of Representatives Tajudeen Abbas, and APC National Chairman Abdullahi Ganduje.
Also present were APC governors, led by Imo State Governor Hope Uzodinma, who serves as Chairman of the Progressive Governors’ Forum. Other governors in attendance included Babajide Sanwo-Olu (Lagos), Dapo Abiodun (Ogun), Babagana Zulum (Borno), Uba Sani (Kaduna), Ahmad Aliyu Sokoto (Sokoto), and Hyacinth Alia (Benue), among others.
The meeting also featured notable party leaders such as Senator Abdulaziz Yari, former Nasarawa State Governor Tanko Al-Makura, and Senator Aliyu Wammako. Founding National Chairman of the APC, Chief Bisi Akande, was also in attendance, alongside other prominent figures like Chief Iyiola Omisore, Chief Olusegun Osoba, and Senator Lola Ashiru from the South-West region.
Former Speaker of the House of Representatives Yakubu Dogara, former Cross River Governor Ben Ayade, and Senator Anyim Pius Anyim were also present at the historic gathering.
The National Caucus meeting marks a significant step in strengthening the APC’s internal cohesion and aligning its strategies with the Tinubu administration’s governance agenda. Discussions focused on fostering unity within the party and addressing key national issues to ensure effective service delivery to Nigerians.
