President Bola Tinubu has extended heartfelt congratulations to former Ondo State Governor, Dr. Olusegun Mimiko, on the occasion of his 70th birthday, celebrating his attainment of the significant milestone of three scores and ten.
President Tinubu, joined by family, friends, and associates, expressed gratitude for Dr. Mimiko’s life and legacy, acknowledging his influential role as a medical doctor and political leader. Fondly known as Iroko, Mimiko’s activism as a student union leader and his 2009 struggle to reclaim his mandate from political usurpers are remembered as sources of inspiration.
The President praised Dr. Mimiko’s contributions to both Ondo State and the nation, highlighting his service as commissioner for health on two occasions, minister of housing, secretary to the Ondo State Government, and governor from 2009 to 2017. Tinubu also commended his achievements as the first governor elected under the Labour Party, recognizing his leadership style and commitment to the people.
President Tinubu concluded by praying for Dr. Mimiko’s continued wisdom and good health, expressing hope that he will remain active in Nigeria’s development and contribute to the country’s prosperous future.
