President Bola Tinubu has reiterated commitment to harnessing the human and natural resource potential of Ogoniland while ensuring environmental and economic security for Nigerian communities.
The President made these remarks yesterday at the State House during a meeting with members of the Supreme Council of Traditional Rulers of Ogoni, Rivers State led by the Gbenemene Tai Kingdom and Paramount Ruler of Kpite Tai, King Samuel Nnee.
The Ogoni Leaders presented various requests, including the revival of oil and gas production in Ogoniland, which encompasses the Eleme, Khana, Gokana, and Tai Local Government Areas of Rivers state.
King Nnee praised President Tinubu for his Administration’s accomplishments within one year in office, specifically mentioning the ongoing construction on the Onne-Junction/Eleme-Junction axis of the East-West Road.
The meeting was also attended by Former Governor of Rivers State and Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Barrister Nyesom Wike; Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Engineer Abubakar Momoh; Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Mr. Heineken Lokpobiri, and Minister of Information and National Orientation, Alhaji Mohammed Idris.
