Date:

Former Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, Professor Attahiru Jega, has been appointed as the Co-Chairman of the Committee to coordinate the implementation of the Livestock Reforms in the country.

Presidential Spokesman, Chief Ajuri Ngelale, in a statement on Tuesday, said President Bola Tinubu made the appointment during the inauguration of the Presidential Committee on implementation of livestock reforms at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

The President said Professor Jega will coordinate the Committee established to address obstacles to agricultural productivity and open up new opportunities that benefit farmers, herders, processors, and distributors in the livestock-farming value chain.

President Tinubu emphasized that the implementation of the reforms will require the collective efforts of members of the committee, drawn from the public and private sectors, State Governors, and all Nigerians.
