President Bola Tinubu has appointed Dr. Olatunji Alausa as the new Minister of Education, following the dismissal of former Minister Prof. Tahir Mamman. Dr. Alausa, previously serving as Minister of State for Health, is a specialist in Nephrology with a degree in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Lagos (1993).
He is also the founder and former executive of Kidney Care Centre, a nephrology practice and dialysis care center in the United States.
In a related development, President Tinubu reassigned Dr. Tanko Sununu, formerly the Minister of State for Education, to his new role as Minister of State for Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction.
