The Osun State Police Command has apprehended a man, identified as Saudi, on suspicion of beheading his father inside a farm in Ilusi village.
Residents reported that the victim, “Baale,” was last seen on Thursday when he left home for the farm. Concerned by his prolonged absence, villagers launched a search, only to discover his headless body covered with palm leaves on the farm the following day.
A village source, Ismail Olaolu, shared that suspicions quickly centered on the victim’s son, who had accompanied him to the farm the previous day.
Following questioning and some pressure, the son allegedly confessed to the crime. The victim’s motorcycle and cocoa harvest were also found near his body at the scene.
Osun Police spokesperson, Yemisi Opalola, confirmed the arrest, stating that the suspect remains in police custody as the investigation continues.
