Plateau Assembly Elects Naanlong Daniel as New Speaker

The Plateau State House of Assembly has elected Naanlong Daniel, representing Mikang State Constituency, as its new Speaker following the resignation of Gabriel Dewan during plenary on Wednesday.

Daniel’s nomination was put forward by Naanbol Listic of Langtang North Central and seconded by Abdul Yanga of Mangu North-East. His emergence was by consensus of the members present.

Shortly after his election, Speaker Daniel was received by Governor Caleb Mutfwang, who charged him to sustain the existing cooperation between the legislative and executive arms of government for the continued progress of the state.
