The 2024 Paris Paralympics is set to commence later today with a spectacular opening ceremony at the iconic Champs-Élysées in Paris, marking the start of the eagerly awaited Games.
A total of 4,400 athletes from 128 nations, each with a physical or cognitive disability, are expected to compete in the Paris Paralympics.
Nigeria will be represented at the Games by 24 athletes across four sports namely Para Athletics, Para Badminton, Para Powerlifting, and Para Table Tennis.
The Games will feature eleven days of top-tier competition across 22 sports, with 549 medals up for grabs.
Organizers have announced that over two million tickets have already been sold as the Paris Paralympics prepare to kick off.
