ONDO SUBSTATION: NDDC Inaugurates Power Station in Okitipupa, Commends Communities for Protecting Government Facilities

The People of Okitipupa and other four Local Government Areas of Ondo State have commended the Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, for lighting up about two thousand communities in Ondo South Senatorial District of the State.

At the Inauguration of 132KV Transmission Line and 132KV/33KV Substation in Okitipupa Area of Ondo State, Minister of Niger Delta Development, Engineer Abubakar Momoh who represented President Bola Tinubu and Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa of Ondo State described the decision of the Niger Delta Development Commission Management to completing the power project which started about fifteen years ago as a decisive step to take the Renewed Hope Agenda dividends of the President to rural areas.

NDDC Managing Director, Dr. Samuel Ogbuku, thanked the community for protecting the equipment from vandalism, emphasizing the importance of community support for development projects.

Attending the commissioning of the project that will supply stable electricity to communities in Ondo State were the Chairman of the Senate Committee on NDDC, Senator Asuquo Ekpeyong, his colleagues in the House of Representatives Committee, Erhiatake-Ibori-Suenu and other Heads of Power Regulatory Agencies in Ondo State.

The people of Okitipupa, Ilaje, and other project beneficiaries are aware of the power plant’s impacts on ease of doing business in their area.
