Nigeria Premier Football League side, Sunshine Stars of Akure have appointed Abubakar Bala as their new manager.
Coach Bala’s appointment was confirmed following Sunshine Stars’ 4-1 loss to Niger Tornadoes in Minna on Sunday.
The former Katsina United, Niger Tornadoes, and Kwara United coach takes over from Bobola Akinbola, who had been serving as the acting head of the technical crew after Kayode Boboye’s resignation last month.
Coach Bala faces a tough challenge ahead, as the team’s defeat on Sunday marked their ninth loss of the season, leaving them in the relegation zone with just 18 points.
His first match in charge will be against El-Kanemi Warriors of Maiduguri, scheduled for Sunday at their adopted home ground in Ijebu Ode.
