Nigeria’s Golden Eaglets have secured a spot in the semi-finals of the ongoing WAFU Zone B U-17 Championship in Ghana with a resounding 3-0 victory over Togo today.
The Eaglets took an early lead when Abdulmuiz Adeleke found the net in the 11th minute, assisted by Abdulmuiz Oladimeji.
Rapha Adams doubled Nigeria’s advantage in the 35th minute, heading in a perfect cross from Captain, Simon Cletus.
Abdulmuiz Adeleke extended Nigeria’s lead with his second goal of the day in the 57th minute, courtesy of another sublime pass from Simon Cletus.
The victory propelled the Golden Eaglets to the top of Group B with 7 points, ahead of Burkina Faso. They are now set to face Ivory Coast in the semi-finals this weekend.
Meanwhile, hosts Ghana will square off against Burkina Faso in the other semi-final match. The two finalists will earn tickets to the 2025 Under 17 Africa Cup of Nations.
