The Nigeria Police Force has taken a significant step towards improving the welfare of its personnel with the launch of a digital insurance portal. Inspector General of Police (IGP), Kayode Egbetokun, unveiled the portal in Abuja, marking a new era in the management of insurance claims for officers and their families.
As part of the initiative, cheques worth over two billion naira were presented to 706 beneficiaries—families of deceased officers—to provide financial support during challenging times. The gesture was met with gratitude and recognition, highlighting the Force’s commitment to honoring the sacrifices of its fallen heroes.
In addition to the portal launch, IGP Egbetokun flagged off a four-day training program for insurance officers across the country. The training is designed to equip them with the skills needed to handle insurance claims digitally and efficiently, ensuring a seamless process for beneficiaries.
The digital portal is expected to streamline the insurance process, reduce delays, and ensure that claims are paid promptly. This initiative is part of broader reforms by the Nigeria Police Force to enhance the welfare and motivation of its officers, fostering a more supportive and efficient working environment.
The launch underscores the Force’s dedication to improving the lives of its personnel and their families, ensuring they are well-supported in times of need.
