The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) has announced the acquisition of advanced gadgets for deployment in the federal capital territory in its fight against insecurity.
The Commissioner of Police, FCT Command, CP Benneth Igweh, in an exclusive interview with ADBN, highlighted the innovative strategy adopted by the force to counter criminal activities
He said the new equipment, which includes sophisticated anti-tracking and anti-jammer devices are in response to technical devices retrieved from criminals during operations
He said the topographical challenges of the FCT have necessitated adaptive measures, and these newly acquired gadgets are expected to provide a much-needed edge in addressing security concerns.
CP Igweh also warned the public on the security threats posed by scavengers. He revealed that in a recent raid, several weapons including seven pump actions and two AK 47 were recovered from scavengers.
He urged FCT residents to exercise heightened caution in their interactions and dealings with scavengers.
