The Chairman/CEO of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM), Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, has applauded Nigerian-born American football player Moro Ojomo for his outstanding achievement in the 2025 National Football League (NFL) Super Bowl. Ojomo, who played a crucial role in securing the victory for the Philadelphia Eagles, was celebrated for his contribution to sports on the global stage.
During an interactive session at the NIDCOM headquarters in Abuja, Hon. Dabiri-Erewa expressed gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his pledge to confer a national honour on Ojomo in recognition of his remarkable feat. She emphasized that his success serves as an inspiration to young Nigerians, demonstrating the potential of hard work and perseverance.
“Moro Ojomo’s journey from Nigeria to the NFL is a testament to the resilience and determination of Nigerians in the diaspora. His achievements remind us that with dedication and focus, anything is possible,” Dabiri-Erewa stated.
At the interactive session, Ojomo shared his vision for youth development, expressing his commitment to investing in young talents. “I want to give back to Nigeria by nurturing the next generation of athletes and helping them achieve their dreams,” he said.
Ojomo, who migrated to the United States with his family in 2001 and settled in California, has had a stellar career in American football. As a defensive lineman for the Philadelphia Eagles, he has contributed significantly to the team’s success, helping them clinch their second Super Bowl championship.
