NFF Denounces False Reports of Victor Osimhen Ban

Date:

Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has strongly refuted recent claims circulating in online publications that Super Eagles’ forward Victor Osimhen has been banned from the national team due to a social media outburst.

In a statement issued on Wednesday night, NFF General Secretary Dr. Mohammed Sanusi categorically dismissed these reports as baseless falsehoods.

He emphasized that the Federation has neither initiated nor concluded any disciplinary proceedings against the player.

Dr. Sanusi urged the media to collaborate with the NFF in resolving issues constructively and focusing on broader objectives rather than sensationalizing unsubstantiated matters.

He further highlighted that the NFF’s current priority is to address all outstanding issues concerning the Super Eagles, ensuring readiness for the upcoming 2025 AFCON qualifiers and the remaining fixtures of the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualification series.
