The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC), has urged all stakeholders in the food supply chain to proactively establish a culture of food safety in their operations, amidst ongoing battle against cholera outbreak.
Director General of NAFDAC, Prof Mojisola Adeyeye, who gave the admonition at the 2024 World Food Safety Day said maintaining a safety culture would mitigate food hazards and risks that could compromise food safety.
Professor Adeyeye emphasized collective responsibility, stating that everyone from producers to consumers must contribute to ensuring the safety of the food we consume.
Additionally, she noted that the federal ministry of health and social welfare has implemented programs aimed at eliminating, eradicating, preventing, and controlling diseases.
