The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has declared Mr. Kazeem Omogoriola Owoalade and Mrs. Rashidat Ayinke Owoalade wanted for operating a cocaine cartel from India.
A statement by NDLEA Spokesman, Mr. Femi Babafemi, revealed that the couple, known by their aliases Abdul Qassim Adisa Balogun and Bolarinwa Rashidat Ayinke, respectively, are implicated in a syndicate that was uncovered following the arrest of four members in Lagos.
Among the items seized were a Sports utility vehicle and two houses, which have been sealed for forfeiture to the federal government.
Two members of the syndicate, Mr. Imran Taofeek Olalekan, and Mr. Ishola Isiaka Olalekan were apprehended on April 3, 2024, as they attempted to export 3.40 kg of cocaine on a Qatar Airlines Flight to Oman from Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Ikeja, Lagos.
Imran was identified as the courier, while Mr. Ishola had recruited him on behalf of the Cartel’s Head, Kazeem Owoalade, who resides in India under the alias Abdul Qassim Adisa Balogun.
In related Operations, NDLEA Officers intercepted drug consignments destined for China and the United Kingdom.
The NDLEA disclosed that it is continuing its War Against Drug Abuse (WADA) Advocacy, with recent sensitization lectures held in schools across various states.
Brig. Gen. Marwa commended the Agency’s Officers for their dedication and efforts in both drug supply reduction and demand reduction activities.
