The Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) has inaugurated a 12-member Anti-Corruption and Transparency Unit (ACTU) as part of efforts to strengthen accountability, transparency and institutional integrity in its operations.
Representing the Managing Director, Dr. Samuel Ogbuku, the Executive Director, Finance and Administration, Alabo Boma Iyaye, said the Commission remains committed to ethical governance, prudent financial management and effective internal controls in the execution of its mandate.
He noted that the establishment of the unit reflects the Commission’s resolve to promote transparency and ensure the responsible management of public resources.
A representative of the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC), Mrs. Ekere Usiere, commended the initiative and urged members of the committee to uphold integrity, professionalism and accountability in the discharge of their responsibilities.
Chairperson of the newly inaugurated ACTU, Deinma Ebong, pledged the committee’s commitment to promoting ethical standards, transparency and compliance across the Commission.
The outgoing Chairman of the unit, Victor Arenyeka, expressed confidence that the new leadership would build on existing achievements and further strengthen the Commission’s anti-corruption and transparency initiatives.
